COA no longer issues engine/transmission number...

Porsche no longer issues the engine and transmission number on the COA unless you already have the correct numbers.

They will only confirm/deny if you have the correct numbers.

If you are missing the engine/transmission or have the incorrect engine and transmission they will not tell what numbers it should have.

They claim this is for your security and the security of future buyers, as they do not wish to provide information that may lead to any misrepresentation of a vehicle in the future.

In the past, I could order a COA for my tub and look for the original engine/transmission.
I have been fortunate enough to find the engine to my 67S and my 69T thanks to the COA (and early911sregistry!)
Now that is out the window.

    Little too much re-creating/tributing/cloning/yadda-yadda-yadda going on . . .

I'm certainly getting more enquiries for Kardex. Only good for up to end of 69 model year though. 1970 through 1980 model year I can generally get engine #, but seldom the transmission # or much else. 17 digit are no problem. COA is still best for paint & options.
