    I had a painted fan, and today I decided to just strip it myself. The fan was red, and the housing was black...... I stripped the paint and decided to just do a flat clear-coat. I think it turned out pretty good.

    MUCH better. (I just strip mine and spray Gibbs on them from time to time)

    Nice save davewadd! Sometimes a back in the day rattle can job actually preserves them, providing you strip it off, not blast.

    ya... I used an aerosol stripper that I've used for other home projects. Works pretty well. I also stripped the red paint off the upper valve-covers and I'm painting those black texture, in a high-heat paint.
