    US Equipment

On my COA it has listed 'US Equipment'. Was this an 'option' given on every US spec car? Meaning it had sealed beam headlights etc. Does anyone know exactly what it consists of?

"US" equipment differed depending on the year.
For instance, 69 ROW (except RHD cars) cars got a locking steering ignition switch and the US cars didn't.
1970 US cars got a locking steering ign switch with a warning buzzer for when the key was left in the switch and the door was opened. The ROW cars got the same ign switch but without the warning buzzer.
    Seatbelts were different, too.
US cars got sealed beam headlights with the despised "Sugar Scoop" headlight trim rings.
Carbs were either Zenith or Weber on some cars depending on the year and whether US or ROW
Maybe others can add to the list

    Regards

    Jim

    +1 here Jim,
I think the key thing is "what year", and whatever DOT decided to impose. Could mean also turn signal color, approved glass, side markers within the turn signals etc. I think even "ride height" for the height of the headlights could be part of it.

    Cheers,
    E

Also included such things as instruments in English, compliance decals and North American owners manuals with warranty booklets. The printed matter might have been added by the distributor in many cases. Canadian equipment most likely added rear window defrost.

Not sure if the 911 was the same as the 914, but this change on the 914 occurred on Jan 1 1973. This resulted in 3 door types for 1973 model year 914's.

Great internal sales memo. I'd be curious to see what is on the next page pertaining to the "911T Only". I was just having a discussion with someone this morning about the changeover from MFI to CIS on the 'T' and wondered if that was a "As of January '73 production" change?

Also, sometime during the '73 production, these additional tow hooks appeared at the front corners of the chassis . . .
