Thread: Cert of authenticity

    Cert of authenticity

I bought my car in the US where it was originally sold although it now resides in the UK where i am restoring it.

I obtained the Cert of Authenticity from Porsche UK and it is pretty detailed on the options for example

Would an application to Porsche USA give any different/additional information or do all COA's draw on the same source information? For example, i have no idea where in the USA my car was originally delivered to, the cert just says Porsche Cars of America

You may want to get the Kardex for your car as additional cross-reference for your COA. Mine shows both the importer (PC Southeast Inc, Jacksonville, FL) as well as the first owner or my US-delivered 1968 911L.

That is my understanding too. I tried to obtain one through a trusted and reliable source on the early S registry and my MY 1970 (October 1969 build) falls just beyond the KARDEX availability

    The "new" COA or Kardex:

    No engine number
    No transmission number (type only)

I know who to thank, do you?

So with this new change to the COA's, how would someone discover their car's original engine number for 70-73 if the engine had been swapped in the past?
Is there another channel to get the engine number info?

Usually the UK provided COA shows more than PCNA COA's, and really just the dealer/distributor. The Kardex is a better bet than the COA although I am seeing Kardex with errors also.
For 1970 through 1980 I may be able to obtain the engine #, but it will cost the same as the Kardex; essentially the same service just a different product with way less info.
