    72/73 rear spoiler option #

Can anyone provide me with an Option Number for a rear spoiler for 1973 year build please.
I have read that people did opt for the Rs duck tail late 73 but it appears that this was occasionally done when collecting your car up from Sttugart via 'tourist delivery rather than ticking an option box on the original order form. ( probably because it was not an option )
Love to see this if its out there.
    Many thanks in adv

    Hello Mr. Foty,

Per your request, here is an email containing the information you requested. I can confirm that the vehicle VIN 9113112204 came equipped with the optional rear spoiler code 473. The interior is a Black Leatherette Code 11.

As stated in our conversation, I have reached out to our Certificate of Authenticity department in regards to your request for a reprint. I will reach out to you once I have an update.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please call us at 1-800-PORSCHE. We are available Monday through Friday 8AM to 9PM EST.

    Kind Regards,

    Mr Foty,
    You are impossible.
Based on your novice belief, everyone who ordered the additional optioned spoiler, code 473 for their E or T in 1972 and those who ordered it in 1973 for their T model 911 failed to receive an RS Ducktail.
PS I friggin cracked up with laughter when I saw your post about wanting an article in our ESSES Mag.
We enjoy the articles because they are fantastic articles and not Fantasy Novels,

I believe you are doing a mighty fine job of this yourself without any Porsche People assistance.

Just discovered above COA for a 1972 (!) with "rear spoiler" info.
This it where it comes from, they just copy paste the wrong answer over and over.

Porsche is writing crap and is even asking money for.

Lets wait until they tell us any early Porsche could have a rear spoiler, so we all say our fake aftermarket RS style is a real one.

Waste of time to discuss. Cheers.

I know. COA's are complete garbage. I'm sure I could sell my car as an "RS Prototype" for big money on the internet...... Not. Haha

I was told the "Rear Spoiler" is supposed to be the 911 S front spoiler- which my car has. It was just lost in translation.
    Thanks,

The COA for my 69 Targa said rear spoiler too. It lacked a rear spoiler and i found it unpleasing to the car's lines to install one.

I got a hold of the Kardex and found out it was an attempt of the intern in charge of translation that day who decided to call my muffler skirt a rear spoiler.

Porsche NA isn't doing themselves any favors by printing garbage translations on an official piece of pretty expensive paper. just get someone to decipher the option codes correctly and use that as a template instead if just having an intern just make a 'best guess' translation. That intern has no clue and may not have ever seen a 356 or long hood 911, let alone a muffler skirt.
