    Hello Edd,
    now I understand the problem... so far I know all Porsche keys are made out of steel. Normally it shouldn't be a big issue. Luckily I had never this situation at a locksmith and they cut the keys for me....

    The important point is to inform whoever is cutting your key that it is steel, not brass, Alloy or other softer metal, and they can tool up accordingly if they choose.
    I've had no problems following this advice. Friends have had less pleasant experiences, when they have surprised their key cutters. Once upon a time key cutting was a precise skill, now it's just putting a blank into a machine.

    I agree, normally it shouldn´t be a big issue. The machine copies the old one.... You could also use a classical file...
