First car 1960 Austin Healey 'bugeye' Sprite purchased in 1966, and first Porsche was a 1970 914 purchased in 1972. Never bought another British car, but have had many, many Porsches since.

My first car was a 1967 Datsun station wagon. It had a 1.3 liter engine and 4 on the floor. My first Porsche was a 1959 356A Super with Rudge wheels. I wish I had both of those cars today.

    Dear 911 friends,

I am pleased to introduce myself here with my first car and my first Porsche.

At the age of 18, my cousin gave me a VW T2b in 1982, after using it to build a house. The first year I drove with my friends on vacation to Rimini in Italy. In 1983 I went with the whole clique (altogether 17 girls and boys) for 4 weeks on holiday from Stuttgart to Calabria to the sea (shoe sole of the boot). In the picture is almost the whole gang on it (I'm the one with the tracksuit), my T2 and the W111 of my buddy (there was still a Toyoto Celica and a second T2). We were all between 18 and 20, it was a fine time!

Unfortunately, the T2 had a bit later a major engine failure on the highway to Munich. We were towed away and the T2 came to a junkyard right on the highway, so I could still see the car passing by for a few years.

Three weeks ago I bought my first Porsche, a Targa S with first registration in April 1972 and I love it!. In the beginning of the 1970s I played with toy cars from Matchbox, preferably with the Porsche models, hence my current choice of vehicle.

Please excuse my English if it does not quite fit, I rarely have the opportunity to use my old school English.
I am looking forward to a lively exchange.

You always a few liters of gasoline in the tank and greetings from the Stuttgart region!

Thank you for the warm welcome and the friendly comments!

The 911 was not my first historic vehicle (in Germany you can apply for an at least 30 years old vehicle a "H-plate" and has the advantage, a reduced tax rate).

I bought my first historic vehicle in 2018 from the second big car company based in Stuttgart. A Mercedes Benz 560 SL from 1987.

In the 1980s, I was a student and had little money. At that time, a SL was as far away from me as the moon!

Originally, I was looking for an SL from the production in late 1984. That's because in the fall of 1984 - before I had to "Bundeswehr" in January 1985 - I worked at Daimler in the "Kernerei" in Mettingen near Stuttgart and there sand cores for the cooling channels the cylinder heads have been assembled for 4 months.

The MB is very different from the Porsche, but also very wonderful!

    Best regards
    Andreas

First car was a '72 VW Squareback that I drove throughout high school and college. First "Porsche" was a used Beck 550 Spyder that we turned into a track day beast. First Porsche is the 912-6 that I still drive hard and often - it's parked outside at work as I type this.
