Jim is a kind and generous soul (which at times he attempts to hide under a gruff exterior) who has helped me out on many occasions. I really lament his retirement but at the same time wish him all the best in his well earned new chapter.

It occurs to me that as folks like Jim retire and leave the business scene that it is going to change for the worse. The handshake, "old leather" guys are a vanishing breed in America.

    Cheers,
    John

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

Called E A S Y many years ago, before I was online ‘95’. Asked about early SWB fog light covers. He knew immediately & exactly what I wanted. Told him about the rusty garbage someone sold me as “ surface rust”! He gave me a good price and I sent a check & received a great set in return.
I grew up in the East Bay Area & have not stopped by to visit. So , this is not on my bucket list anymore!! All the best in your upcoming adventures as getting away from PORSCHE will not be so easy....cliff

Well it is still on my bucket list! And damn it all, I'm going out there for the December coffee/donut morning.

Congratulations Jim. I'm so happy for you to make a deal with the Emorys. Good karma.

    Save me a coffee cup!

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim several months ago when we were in San Fran visiting our daughter. Came in on an late sat morn (not d&c weekend) and it was like we were the only reason for him being there. Talked for the better part of an hour and left with a couple o’coffee cups. Now they’ll really be treasured, or ebayed Not really. Bought a few things from him over the years and as has been mentioned here, his prices were extremely reasonable if not downright cheap. My only regret is I didn’t meet him earlier in my disease. Quality guy and while he’s closing his doors, he’s not closing his mind to us or the community. Nice run Jim, congrats. Enjoy....
