    Also it appears from an earlier post that early '73's built before 1/73 did not come with US DOT equipment.
    Can someone confirm this?

    Yes, 1/73-on cars had door impact beams and the fugly big rubber impact absorbing protrusions in the US. US and Canadian regulations were not harmonized at that point, so it is possible Canadian cars could be different. One thing to do is to take off a door panel and see if the impact beam is in the door. If it is, it probably goes along with the fugly rubber bumperettes. I believe the double locker seat bases were also introduced at the same time. So if you have those and the impact beams, big rubber protruberances are likely correct for your car.
