    Does RD offer only the 64-65 front panel with bumps on the left side now? It used to be that you could only get the 66- version with a flat left side (what you started with). At least you don't have to plug the holes in the metal strip that holds the rubber.

    Great resurrection, the shot with the wood screws is great! Way to bring one back.

    Thanks 304065, this is the panel the owner provided.
    Moving along to the left side wheelhouse and longitudinal section.

    Blasting usually uncovers thin metal but did not here. A hammer did.
    This area is always thin from stresses and moisture. The lower portion of the inner, outer- torsion tube support sheet metal was bad also.
    Now I'm ready to start the driver's side longitudinal.
    Note: I phosphoric acid (p.a.) etch prior to zinc phosphate primer typ., this removes surface rust quickly.

    I'll have updates soon. I'm catching up on other projects and I've ordered a special metal shaping tool needed to remake some inner panels that need replacement on this car.

    I took a 2 month break on this one. Both inner longitudinal supports are repaired and very strong.
    I'm ready to fit the doors to set the outer rockers and repair the quarters.
    The Danske panels and great quality.
    As usual, I'm loading up all opened cavities with zinc.I

    Btw, the old cars should be reinforced at the outer T bar tube ala RSR, note the 22 mm fatigue crack at lowest cover attachment point.

    I repaired it but to be safe will make up 18 ga overlays.

    Too thick reinforcement overlay itself will do the opposite and cause stress and fatigue at its perimeter and add unnecessary weight.

    The overlay needs to wrap around towards the center of the car like the RS department did it.

    Outer rockers fit real nice and a good sign when the fender joining panels and hinge posts were replaced/partially replaced.

    It's nice seeing this former crust bucket take shape.

    I only have one bent old swb fender to take a look at fit

    Warning: ugly process shots, hide your children's eyes.

    Because this '67 is getting much more motor than was probably ever anticipated back in the mid 60s, I'm seam welding the rocker sections and welding the crap out of the transitions from them into the body. Hot ugly spattered welds beat pretty, cold welds all day.

    Note the curve of the gauge panel from this view.

    Very nice work. On swb cars I cut the bottom of the reinforcement piece behind the latch panel and bend a 90deg. around the bottom to look more original.
