I have struggled for ages against the rotating photos posting via mac.
In order to alleviate Chucks work load I have realised that ONLY Landscape shape uploads correctly.
To get a portrait photo to upload without the rotation issue you first must edit it on your mack to the shape of a landscape picture.
this does not always work tho as you sometimes end up cropping out parts of the original.
Take your photos on your phone in landscape format ie phone on its side and all will be resolved.
    Sorry this is off topic,,,

Now, after 3 years of restoration, the Porsche Museum will finally present one of the newest additions to its collection – and the oldest 911 that it holds –
at the special exhibition “911 (901 No. 57) – A legend takes off”

Shame they couldn't have left the car as they found it, much more interesting, much more of a genuine story to tell.

What's with this mania of 'restoring' everything?

officially porsche had no 901 in their archives, thus it was a neccessary step to do.
the ROI is already in since aquisition....
    on the other hand:
Porsche does not want to aquire the first produced 912 - 450 001
which had been offered to them via various channels.

And finally, when will you have a german 901 barnfind, almost
    never...
nice story to be told, and that s all about:
having a nice fairy tale....its chrismas time

The condition of the car unfortunately required a total restoration, but I agree, would be very nice to see a 911 or a 912 at the museum in its original preserved condition.

Not sure that's an accurate statement; I believe more than ever there's a concerted effort to maintain patina when appropriate. And BTW: The 64's being restored currently are FAR more accurate in detail than previously because we have FAR more information about them.

As for this clapped out, rusted turdbucket... I can't speak for Porsche but if I owned a million dollar car that was going on display as a representation of my company I would find very little joy in presenting it like THAT! Let's keep in mind that cars are built by humans and also restored by humans. It is up to the restorer to duplicate intrinsic authenticity. Much of the "originality" #57 may have had was horrifically assaulted by Mother Nature and previous owners.

Slightly different thing here though don't you think. We're talking about a museum showing this 'turdbucket'.

What if the Science Museum here in London starting 'restoring' all of its prehistoric, iron age and roman artifacts to 'as new' or 'restoring' Apollo back with his appendages.....

Good point; although still a shame that Apollo is missing his numbers matching member.
