Thread: 73.5 911/91

    73.5 911/91

I inherited a 2.7 RS spec Weber'ed engine with my 914-6. I disassembled it, had all the machining done, new everything, and was ready to reassemble with correct MFI and realized the case was a 73.5 type 911/91 serial #6133091 which had been opened up to 90mm. This can obviously be "sleeved" back to 84mm and re-used as a correct 73.5 2.4 CIS case.
I can continue with my build, or set this aside and use a 2.7 7R case which might make more sense. Problem is I would be starting over with a 2.7 case as this one has been "massaged". And maybe there is someone out there looking for a serial number which is easy for me to get. My 2.7 RS spec build doesn't need a serial number.
Really not interested in starting over with a dirty 2.7 run-out engine (and there are several out there right now)...but with the frenzy over "numbers matching" these days, thought it would make sense to ask. I don't have a price in mind, but am open to trades especially if they are in the 2.7 "direction" I might be headed. If you are needing a 73.5 case, maybe we should talk...send me a PM.

Easiest path for me is to use what I have. If I get no PMs I am going to probably just rebuild on this case. The post was not to hold a "dark auction" behind the forum, but to get recommendations.
