    Wanted to rent

    Guys
Need to remove my DS door for new antenna install.
I know a member has engineered an excellent tool to remove both hinge pins, but would never use it again after I get this door off and back on.
So.....would like to pay for shipping and use cost for a week to get this done.
Let me know if someone can assist
    Thanks
    Frank

I never really understood this hinge pin removal tool. When I took the pins out I did it with a long piece of steel which I tapped on with a light hammer.

Maybe I'm missing something or my pins had been replaced with something easier to remove.

I've removed hundreds of hinge pins with a plain old punch.
By the way, I have dozens of tools in my box that I have only used once. You just never know when they will come in handy, again.

    Regards

There was a thread regarding 'slide hammer" pin removal tool recently
So much for that by the above posts.
However punching out dry seized pins is no fun without penetrating oil and patience.

I have one of the slide hammer tools and I can't get it to work. A nice long flat edge punch does the trick every time. Release your check strap so you can open the door all the way and use a paper towel cardboard insert with a slice along it's length to protect the paint. Essentially, you are now working within an open sided cardboard tube. Works great! Lots of penetrating oil too!

Words of wisdom from Senior Member"s
Personally, I tend to have to pull out the paint tin even when I take a door pin out on my house doors.
I will never contemplate it on my car. lol

+1....can't imagine using anything other than the slide hammer tool...one of the best tool investments I've made.

I would be happy to lend you mine but I am assuming you are in the states and the cost of shipping back and forth may be cost prohibitive.
