    Christophorus medal -- Dash

A local person here showed me a medal of St. Christopher. His claim is that folks who traveled to the factory for a pick up were given this medal as a token in the late 50's and early 60's. I can see that there is evidence that Mercedes, BMW, VW and Porsche did seem to have embraces St Chris during this time. I discovered Christophorus magazine that Porsche produces is also from this vein.

Has anyone heard about such a dash medal, and any pictures. I scoured the web, but to no avail. I know this will be mainly in the 356 group, but thought I would start here since you all are quite knowledgable, and some were even around back then.....

    thanks -- rr

Yes. There was even a St Christopher horn button made by Petri. There were many versions of St Christopher badges. The smaller probably for the dash, the larger for the grill. I don't know about factory handouts though. They did honor owners with the 100,000K badge but that was earned.
