I am very happy and sleep well at night.

I have also viewed up close the car that caused the ruckus as well as pictures of its issues when disassembled and stripped.

Tdskip, feel free to PM me.
Just for the record, the last time I visited Bill's house I didn't sleep so well for awhile, he passed his nightmare onto me, maybe that's why he was sleeping well.
Just kidding Bill, that was a fun car!

I'm confused Adam, it looks like you actually left the 996 convertible behind...

Bill actually did me a favor, what was at first a nightmare was honed into a pretty cool car, it's in Australia now.

You can read about it here:

Ah, the Spoodster. Thanks Adam for reminding me about that chapter of my life...

Sometimes a movie comes with an alternative ending and hopefully the car in question has been resolved and the shop got a wake up call...
This isn’t Bill’s first rodeo so I’m confident he knows what he’s looking at and glad to hear his project is working out to his satisfaction..
Lesson learned? No matter what reputation your shop has, stay close to it so you can monitor the progress and avoid being surprised or disappointed.

Every PORSCHE specific shop & highly regarded PORSCHE mechanic (two) I have dealt with have been expensive and a down right disappointment. They did not stand behind their work either?! I paid they played.......cliff

I'm sorry to hear that. Also surprised as I've had the exact opposite experience. We're lucky here in Texas and I've worked with Bob Jones, Steve Henry, and Mike Callas (RIP) and have had outstanding experiences with all three. I keep trying to find a reason to bring a car up to Ed Mayo but just bought a car that he helped put back together and it's awesome as I would have expected.

I'd invite you to move to Texas. Unfortunately, we're full.

    Classic.

    Cliff,
I suspect you've never tried TLG and I KNOW you've never used my shop.

Nothing personal but I would say you simply made the wrong choice or had unreasonable expectations.

Frank's post reminds me that I should also mention the multitude of shops and specialists not local to me who have gone above and beyond to assist me and answer my questions over the years with never a request for compensation (the aforementioned Mr. Beck included). That's even more impressive when you meet me and realize how truly unlikable I am.

I wouldn't give up, Cliff. My guess is that, if you're 0 for 2 right now, you're due for a long winning streak.
