Original Recaro early 911 sport seats

    Post deleted. Corrections needed.

Original 911 Recaro bucket seats with slides. I cannot edit the title but I have been informed these are referred to as the optional bucket seats in 1968. These are the original covers and are actually in very good shape except for the splits at the bend. With some perforated vinyl I believe those side pieces could be replaced and the seats dyed and would be very nice.

These sport seats are very rare so there is not much to reference on price. I had someone tell me they saw them in a Euro 68 911S but according to the 68 parts catalog they were an option for any 911. Although they were not the standard seat for a 911R another person told me they saw them in a 911R (perhaps as an option?).

Given the lack of reference and the value of other sports seats I am asking the first $6k or best offer.

Sorry for the sideways photos. I haven't quite determined why they flipped. I have just added additional photos. The shell appears to be in excellent condition. These belonged to my brother and I know he had them in storage for the past 25 years.

Plse post some pics of the backsides and the undersides. These original older shells were made out of gel coat and had a tendency to crack and become brittle over 50 years.

With a handle like recaro I guess you know your seats! Now that I look at the parts catalog I see that is how to refer to them. Thanks, I appreciate the information.

the seats are of course genuine recaros from 1968 ;-) but the design is not called sports seat but bucket seat, the difference is in the glass fiber hard shell and the lack of lying possibility, etc. in Germany seat was called "recaro schalensitz" later model´s "recaro rallye 1" best
