70 S shroud repair

Had a couple conversations with Damon (Series 900) recently about sourcing an amber shroud for a 3.2 SS twin plug project. His shrouds look amazing and I had convinced myself that I would probably go ahead and replace the red shroud on my 70 S engine which has several battle scars...more like missing limbs. I decided today that I am going to repair the damaged areas (create a negative mold and section in missing glass) and keep the original shroud. My question is...what is a close approximation of the correct red for the shroud? I fully realize that the shrouds originally were not painted, but the resin was impregnated with color. After my repairs I will need to re-color the repaired areas. Anybody have any suggestions for hi-heat red paint that looks acceptable? These are my primary problem areas...

Actually, any good-quality paint will work. I like PPG two-part catalyzed acrylic. You can get a color match at their stores. The temperature range is not excessive.

I was actually hoping somebody has done this and could point me in the direction of a brand and a color....like "duplicolor Ford Red" : )

Lars, why not just buy one from Damon? He has spent years perfecting it, the "Factory" (Atlanta) buys his stuff.

I seem to recall a recent thread about DAMON in Pelican saying that he was not active in producing the shields any longer. If not true, I have a need for one...can you confirm he is doing them again?

I very well may end up doing that...
...but given that I am basically restoring every square inch of this car anyway, I thought I would attempt to resurrect the shroud first. Some people are like that...and it irritates the hell out of others. : )
