When a car starts eating pot metal pasta it may be time to reconsider those gasifiers Jim.

No way would I have any confidence in the rest of those secondary venturies at this point.

To be honest, I think I have myself to blame for the broken venturi. This is an old style Dellorto that uses the old style, two footed secondary venturi, instead of a "circular" venturi. There is a bolt with a lock nut on it to secure the secondary venturies in all Dellortos. My bolts have been missing on all of my carbs for years and I never bothered to replace them because it never seemed to affect performance. Not having the venturies secured must have allowed the venturies to rattle around some vibration that eventually led to one of them failing. I've got new ones coming and you can bet that they will be properly secured. This took 15 or so years to become a problem. The pictures are of a 34MM Dellorto but clearly show the venturi and the lock bolt.

    Regards

    Jim
