The one on the left is for a Koni shock and the one on the right is for a Boge Shock. The Boge nut is more correct. Your Boge struts should be painted blue/grey not black.

Jim, isn't the thread pitch also different from Koni to Boge?

Yes, the thread is different on SWB Koni struts (the tube is larger at the top on the Koni) vs the Boge. The picture shows 2 Boge struts. One with a Koni insert (made for a Boge strut) and one with a stock Boge insert.

    Regards

For which years the Boge blue/grey would be applicable? For a 72/73 I have, I was convinced (sofar) the Boge strut was original and black.

Don't want to speak for Jim, but I think he meant to say the inserts themselves are blue/grey color...

The inserts were blue/grey. as well. I was referring to the outside, though. The strut tube and the dust shield were blue/grey. The base that holds the ball joint is painted black.
These are for "SWB" 911s and 912s. The blue/grey color is hard to find as virtually all struts are covered with crud and underseal.
