    1967 S chassis numbers

    Hello Forum,

Apologies if this has been covered before, but does anyone know the definitive number of 1967 911S Coupes were made? The numbers in various books seem to be different. Also, are the numbers sequential or do they skip in a certain pattern? Finally, how many in 1966 and how many in 1967?

The reason I ask is because mine (306788S) is a late-October 1966 build 911S Coupe, and I would love to know how many others were built in ‘66, and how many were built before and after. Do cars 306787, 306789, 306790, 306791 exist?

    Thanks in advance.

    911 911S
    1605 1818 Coupe
    358 360 Targa
They started building them in May 1966, and your car is roughly at the midpoint of coupe production. So about 900 before and after your 911S was built. Basically all Targa's were built in calendar year 1967. The 911 & 911S were built without much of a pattern.
There was a page from the production book that I have seen, and it covers a day. The VIN's are all over the place, but the engine types are generally in little clusters.
