    Dealer number on Kardex

I just received the Kardex for my 1969 911S (thanks, Dave!). It confirmed that all of the information on my COA was correct.

The Kardex shows a dealer number of 0917. Does anyone know which U.S. dealer this refers to? Forum search came up empty.

    Thanks, as always,

I understand that 917 was the handler number / Distributor number for Porsche of America Corporation at Teaneck NJ

They were a main dealer or importer however covering:
    ..Connecticut
    ..Delaware
    ..District of Columbia
    ..Massachusetts
    ..Maine
    ..New Hampshire
    ..Rhode Island
    ..Vermont
    ..Maryland
    ..New Jersey
    ..New York
    ..Pennsylvania
    ..Virginia

in your original paperwork if you had it - but not the kardex, you may find a further three numbers after the 0917 representing the actual dealership that sold the car. For handler 917, being the east coast, there may have been 50 or 60 of those by 1969

Someone (Rick / LongRanger??) posted a full list of those somewhere on the board maybe 5 to 10 years ago

Sorry I don't have the answer for USA market but for rest of the world the glovebox booklet lists the importer and the dealer with their reference number and even rates their servicing capability and equipment on a 1-3 star scale. Did USA market cars not have this glovebox documentation packet?

I'm sure you do. But repeatedly poking him about it isn't going to change whether it can be done or not.
