Would never go back to carbs.

I just installed an MFI setup that I had bought 10 years ago. Mark Jung took a look at the pump and said it was fine, so I installed it and the car has never run better, even after my rudimentary CMA. I need to find the time to bring it to Mayo for fine tuning, but scared to now as our alley is about to be rebuilt and would hate to have the car fixed and no place to park it .

Thank you all for your information. I have been in the hospital and have not been able to reply. Thank you for your ideas. Will continue to keep the MFI

    Good decision.

Hope all is well with regard to your health.

BTW gruen911: Klub Sport quit sponsoring their Challenge series 4-5 years ago.

A pity; those sprints were always a blast. Great group to race with.

    Thanks
    PGI guy,

Make sure to have your car inspected by someone who has experience in MFI. My first mechanic kept insisting that my MFI pump needed to be rebuilt, even after the previous owner had told me that the pump was rebuilt by Gus at Pacific Fuel. I got second opinion( New Mechanic ). He was quickly able to diagnose that MFI pump is fine and my issue was with my throttle body. Many of these shops are not working on MFI pumps on a regular basis.

I hope you get your 73 sorted out.

For Boston area I'd highly recommend taking MFI cars (or any 911s really) to European Performance Engineering (EPE) in West Natick, MA. Jerry Pellegrino and his team are air cooled specialists from long hoods to 959. They can diagnose, tune, and assemble full MFI system and motor. If MFI pump needs rebuild EPE sends out to Pacific Fuel Injection, Jerry has worked with Gus for many years so time to completion is pretty reasonable.

    www.epe.com

EPE did full rebuild on my '74 Euro MFI Carrera 2.7 motor, which included a pump rebuild by Pacific. Car runs like a dream.

    Hm

Well --- keeping all the removed bits with the car may not affect the sell price too-too much

Then-again, putting everything back? --- especially if anything 's missing . . . will cost

    Parts alone are painful . . .
    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...-4S-MFI-System

    . . . + then there's re-installing everything --- + getting all that stuff to play-nice, again . . . = not a small undertaking

A savvy Buyer will know this

    I can appreciate your wanting a runable/driveable/maintainable/enjoyable car --- especially if you don't have access to reliable/affordable/trustable service, but . . .

    . . . that's why they make Camrys, isn't it?

    Enjoy your choices
