Mirror Experts - Please chime in

I came across this large Durant mirror and would like to know from the experts if it’s original. If so it’ll go our ‘68 SWT, if not, I’ll need to source a real one. Thanks in advance for your input.

What makes you say that Jim?
I thought that the mirrors with the one fixed bolt at the rear of the mounting were genuine ones and all the fake ones had two loose bolts in the mounting not one fixed and one movable. I thought that was the best tell when looking at photos rather than having them to touch and examine closely.
It looks , to my eye at least, identical to the one I know for certain is original on my 73 (Australia other RHD markets had the round Durants in 73 rather than the flag ones).

Wow Jim,,,,I was going for real also, due to the sharp stamping of "made,,,,,," and the three stars. Waiting to learn.

Stamp looks real to me with most of the 3 stars inside the semi-circle "Made in Germany".

Thanks so far guys. Mike, I did view those threads before posting. They lead me to believe that the mirror I have, and posted here, was real. I was looking for the 'braintrusts' opinion. Now, I'm more confused than ever!!

OK, I'm going to take a step back after looking very carefully at all the pictures. There have been many iterations of those mirrors through the years. Repops of those mirrors have been available for more that 40 years. The first bunch of those repops were pretty good and they have gotten progressively worse since. I thought that it was a repop after looking at the first picture of the logo but I think it was taken from a bad angle and made it look like one of the star points was not pointed directly at the A in Made and the A in Germany. I believe that the early versions of repops had a stationary bolt and not till fairly recently were they both movable. I'm going to take photos of a couple of correct mirrors this evening. I'm leaning toward saying it is an original but not just yet.

    Regards

    Jim
