Cutting a long story very short,

Sometimes my 1969 would bog at high revs with part throttle (reading very rich on the wide band O2 sensor.)

I worked through the electrics and carb jetting, but the issue was still there.

Next I rebuilt the carbs with new needle jets, tested the fuel pressure etc, but still the same intermittent problem.

I finally pulled the transmission beam and saw the bushings were not black rubber, but a 2 piece hard plastic with metal inserts, AND some of cup washers were missing.

I went to a wevo beam and the problem disappeared.

Richard Parr's question from TWO YEARS earlier was ringing in my ears "are you running solid motor/trans mounts?"

I had an extra early transaxle mount so I sent it to WEVO. They put it on a jig and retrofitted it for their pillow bushings, blue or black, and are now replaceable. Very happy with the result.

Thanks all. For what its worth I went with the Rebel two piece black mounts which I was told are close to factory levels of softness.
