    It was 3 months before my 12th birthday when it hit magazines on the news stands..........
    Already a car kid.. it was like someone hit me over the head... I never saw anything like it.......

    in grad school a buddy had a series 1 drop top....it was tiny!

    A friend of the family purchased a new one in 1965. He wanted my father to drive it and I was already fascinated (17 yrs old), with European sports cars. My father drove and I tagged along. My father was not that impressed, but I certainly was.

    I remember seeing an add on the back of a Times magazine in the school library when it first came out, it was a bronze color coupe, beautiful. Must have been in the 6th grade or so. Only time I ever drove one was a roadster with the top down on a beer run in a snow storm.
