reinstalling targa bar: on to op the trim or not?

    Hi,

I'm having a small discussion with a friend of mine how the targa bar should be installed on a 69 hard window targa.

There is a chrome trim running from under the rear window to the b pillar. Should the targa bar been placed ON TOP of this chrome trim? There are cut outs in the trim near the targa bar location, but I have some difficulty fitting the targa bar between the trim and the body. My friend said that it should not be in between....where I said: what else is the cut out meant for?

Could somebody help us end this 'fight'??

The trim should definitely be outside of the Targa bar.

I leave the trim nuts loose until I get the targa panel inside the trim cutout.
