early targa top adjustment at the rear?

    Hi,

Still trying to get a better fit of my targa top. The left rear is a bit too high.

I did some searching and found articles about changing the position to the rear pins on the top. My left pin looks lower than the right one. But am I correct that I cannot really change the position of this pin on my 69 targa? I do not have the 3 bolts at the rear which can be unscrewed to move the pins. I did loosen the pin and this gives me some movement but not much.

Are there other options? For instance putting shims under the pin module? Looks to me like I have to completely dismantle the top to do this (which I am not planning on doing)?

Are there other solutions? Would hitting the top with a rubber hammer to lower the "high side" be ok??

    Thanks, frank

He has been most helpful to me over the years.
