Cheers Mark, I will, no way to stop me

Looks perfect to me. The best Porsche is one that is driven and enjoyed, not parked and polished. Keep on keeping on. Cheers, Mark

Here it is. All 4 corners replaced - now rolling like a fart on an oilcloth.

Did a fall drive this morning, about 100 miles on curvy and wet road though the Rambouillet forest. SHE is a blast to drive.

    Greetings,

giving you a bit of news. Since the previous post I've driven SHE a bit more than 10000 km. I still had few issue, mainly with the carbs/ignition from the S engine. I had the feeling that sometime the engine was running on 5 cylinders, but not always. Nevertheless the performance was not there and I was expecting something "special" from S engine.

I ask my friend Sébastien Crubilé to have a look and keep the car until SHE comes a beast to drive. Sebastien called me few days after I let SHE in is garage.
First SHE went on a rolling power bench to measure the HP output : 120 hp....well a bit far from the 160HP.
Sébastien started to tune the Webers : no much gain.
Then Webers were completely overhauled : no gain (but it is always good to do)
    Not the Webers though.

Next is the ingnition chain : and Sébastien found out that the chain : Spark plugs/ coil/ rotor were not matching one with another, some with resistive, other not etc.
He replaced the sparkplugs/coil and rotor with brand new and ones he knows and decided to put a Permatune, verdict : 172HP...
Then he left in place the new Spark plugs/ coil / rotor and put back the previous DME box : 124HP...
We decided to install a full MSD ignition chain and now the S engine is a "competition" one, just a blast to drive.

The guy who sold me the 2.0S 68 engine did mount an electronic ignition system from a ..... VW Polo. no need to go through that in details.

That said, SHE is now so nice to drive, I even drive her to the office, I went 3 times to the sea side with (1000 return x3), etc.

I have now installed the R type clock delete from JimmyT, installed 4 points Willans Harness (I need to restore the Britax ones), replace the steelies by 15' 5.5 Fuchs, and am about to swap the Recaro seats with Scheel 300R.
Could not resist to apply some tribute livery to match her new sister (both 911s are coming from the US) AND hopefully both will be at Le Mans Classic Porsche Coral.
    If you are around... :-)
