Joey, your ragtop Zwitter looks amazing! Had a cut up '53 Zwit given to me a couple of years ago, missing a door and one fender, no engine, rusty tray, etc. I thought long and hard about putting my Polo4 into that thing and building something similar to yours, but gave it to a young VW guy with much ambition and little money. Too many projects on my plate already. Anyway, this '64 deluxe was my daily driver (along with a 356 hardtop) for many years. Currently undergoing a bare-shell resto... my favorite death trap, hope to finish by November.

    Like Tomster, I'm an optimist.

I love the complete project, great Mann "green" oil canister. I wouldn't change a thing...fantastic job!

Thank you for posting your vintage VW cars, buses & projects ! Keep em coming please !

Russ, appreciate the kudos...you MUST install front discs brakes at the very least on your bus. Remember, nothing there up front but sheetmetal for protection !

Eric, thanks for your vote of confidence. Im planning to take it to Treffen in a few weeks just taking care of few details now. See ya there I hope ?

I traded this one for a another project car a few years ago. Pulled the Subaru motor out raised it up and made a camper interior for it.

Then did a 9,000 km road trip half around Australia in it.

That's funny and cool. I had a vintage motorcycle in my living room (till I got married) once and a bunch of die cast cars, but never a real car. I need a bigger house.

    Mark..
