#1 cars are very rare. these are cars that look new but they are all original including paint. Two that come to mind are the famous 700 mile 70 911S in silver and the Allen 73 911T in aubergine. The owner of the 911T never took it out of the garage. Only took it for a oil change a few times. The owner of the 911S died 6 month's after purchase and the wife just left it in the garage for 30 plus years. Very hard to compete in a concore with these kind of cars. Chris

At least at the PCA Parade level, I am confident that original and restored cars compete in different classes.

I will share this with you though, since I have been in the market I have reached out to 4 owners/shops who all want 210 to 230K for restored cars. It has sat there for at least 8 to 24 weeks for sale. Not too long ago when the cost of the donor car was cheaper, the asking prices were 125 to 150K. Now they've skyrocketed.
Thank you for the nice words. I love doing the restos - even the grungy, tedious scraping - so not having to do a 'checkbook' restoration gives me some flexibility in not needing to chase rainbows in a selling price. Still deciding if I want to go 'public' with advertising it....it is so enjoyable just to look at it in the garage. Local PCA concours event this weekend, but rain is in the forecast
