    FS: @bonhams - 1987 BMW M6 Coupe

My '87 U.S.-spec M6 Coupe will be sold at NO RESERVE at the Bonhams Greenwich (CT) auction on Sunday, June 3rd.

This unmolested, matching-numbers, original-paint, no-rust beauty has been very well maintained by four careful owners and shows only 97,500 miles. The car comes with an extensive service history from new, clean Carfax, fresh TRX tires on factory BBS wheels, books, tools, jack, unused original spare, first-aid kit, glovebox flashlight, original radio and keys, new clutch, battery, radiator, ignition components, hoses, fuel lines, and a fully-functional, refurbished self-leveling suspension. Color is black over Lotus White leather and the car is gorgeous inside and out. She drives superbly.

Only 1,767 M6 Coupes were ever made for the U.S. market.

Check the Bonhams website in a week or so for further details and a portfolio of recent photographs.

    Thanks for looking,

Had a lot of fun in one of these with my family on targa Baja a few years back.....canyon carved with a variety of 911’s and didn’t feel I was at a disadvantage in any way.

    Great cars.

    BMW e24 . . .

. . . one of those cars that many people don't 'get'

Not the handiest or sportiest BMW, maybe --- + the US-spec bumpers do these NO favors . . .

. . . but they are lovely cars

    Smaller in person, too

Agree 100%. They almost single-handily ruin the beautiful lines of the car. BMW pulled them in a bit on the '88 cars, but still nowhere near euro spec.

Here is a picture of my euro bumper 1985 from the 90s.

My comparison: the M6 performed like you were running in a pair of heavy but robust cross trainers while in a 911 you were running in a proper running shoe, light and nimble.

    Weights M6: 3340#s @ 256 hp v. 911: 2680#s @ 207hp.

Sorry about pic, couldn’t rotate it.

    Try this.

The 400bhp my m88 motor (dinan stage2, VAC made it even better) puts out in my light m635 (1984) makes it feel about as potent as the 265bhp I get from the 3.6 in my lightweight 1983 SC....but it’s a different kind of fast, which I think is your point.
