    Lighter

Hello, can anyone give some information about this cigarette lighter? I've never seen one before and I've owned it for close to 30 years, it was originally on a 68' 911 I owned. Hands free lighting of a cigarette while driving... Place the cigarette in the hole, push down on the perimeter collar and it lights. There is a heating element in the base, has an automatic turn off when it reaches the right temperature. years ago a friend told me it was a "racing" lighter but I have a hard time believing someone would try to light up going down a strait at 130+ ... Here's a pic. Thanks for the input.

I had an Alfa 105 1750 that had a lighter like that installed in it. just to the rear of the gearshift and facing upwards.
Dont think this would work on a 911 as the lighter is mounted vertical and the ciggie would just fall out

You would think it wouldn't work but it did, I tried it when it was installed in the car... I doubt if it was a factory option though, probably dealer installed.

Thank you. Now I want one.
    Crazy prices though...

BTW, they are called "Brico Pram" and were used on Alfas and Ferraris (and probably others) back in the days. The nicest feature is a tiny little gong when the ciggie is lit.
