    Alloy Replicas

    Hi,

I like the look of steel wheels but they has nearly the double weight as alloy wheels.

Someone with experience of these alloy wheels:

I used a set of the Rudge ones on Da Spoodster, they were very light and well made.

    Coddington does these.

I did modify the hubs to take real Rudge spinners for a more authentic look, and I powder coated the wheels black.

Why is the L/F Rudge spinner missing an ear?

Three are Car Go spinners. L/F is a Van Go spinner.

Finding 4 Rudge Spinners took every trick I had for finding parts. I wanted rough and rugged ones, not pretty re-pop's, and the one eared one just screamed rugged! Here are some more pics of the car.

I've heard of removing one ear from an wing nut to keep it from self loosening, but I've never seen the concept applied to a Rudge spinner. It certainly adds to the Van Go(gh) theme.
