    Clear Plastic Brake Lines

    Hi all,

I've tried searching this forum and online and cannot seem to find anything on this subject. I have a 1970 911E and I want to replace the clear brake line tubing that runs from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder.

    Porsche part # 901 355 644 00

Has anyone replaced theirs and with what?

    Regard

    Chris

New ones are black I believe, seems I've always cleaned them to my satisfaction.

Check the plastic tubing section at your local friendly ACE Hdw. Of course they won't be preformed.

The important thing is precisely which plastic; does anyone know for certain?

I don’t know about that Ed. I use the clear hardware store tubing with my vacuum and pressure bleeders and it degrades after a while from contact with brake fluid.

Not the clear tubing, the tubing I'm thinking of is more opaque, seems like its referred to as some kind of poly----- looks the same as the factory stuff,,,,,,can't tell you more,,,,,Ace is closed right now

All plastics are polymers, and there are a very wide variety of them. I'm thinking it is a particular variety of nylon, however there are many varieties to choose from.
