Has anyone used the new JP Group Dansk Door Handles

    Guys
Evaluating whether to buy new Dansk (around $500 set) or buy used and replate originals .
Also The New Genuine Porsche handles are $1,000-$1,200.
    These are for a 1970.
What details , weight, size etc differ in the new versus originals.
    Thanks for assistance

    Frank,

I doubt JP or Porsche Classic both sell the 1970 only version where the key orientation is horizontal vs all other years with vertical orientation. If your door handles are restorable then that would be my first option. You can stlil find the 1970 version on eBay etc but most are not complete. Finding the trigger mechanism is a real challenge.

    Thanks for reminder !
Remembered reading about the horizontal key.
PO had these painted black .
Any idea why Porsche decided to do this , wonder if Vendor made mistake and they decided not worth effort to make them change .

Doubt the vendor (DOM) made a mistake, almost everything of the handle is different; the part that slides into the cylinder housing, the pin, m5 mount to the door etc. If you see 70 vs 71 or 72.73 door handles side by side then differences are clear. Horizontal vs vertical who knows what they thought, just cosmetic?
