Thread: Horn honks when turning steering wheel

The spring and cup washer I'm referring to are under the steering wheel, not the butterfly.

There was no spring under the steering wheel, between the donut horn contact and the steering column. I orderd one. I'm not sure about the cup washer.

If you didn't have that spring and cup washer under the old steering wheel there would be a lot of slop in the steering shaft. The washer is a 356 part, I think a 644 prefix, don't know the whole number from memory, Stoddard has it . Call them.

Much appreciate everyone's help!! I have an original 1970 edition Parts Catalogue and I can't find any part in the "front axle steering" (section 4/2) that shows a 644 part number. Maybe it was updated to 914.XXX.XXX. I believe my sterring column is complete with the exception of the spring washer - 914.347.713.00. Thanks again for input!!
