FS: 1962 Porsche 356B Project 1600S Sunroof Slate Grey

A 1962 Porsche 356B Super project car, original colors are Slate Grey/Grey interior. Colors verified by the original Kardex which also confirms the original owner, Mr. Heinz Zegke of Spokane,WA. This is a very restoreable and solid 356 coupe in a desirable color. The car has recently had new floors added by an expert 356 restorer, which included new pans spot welded in place with new toe board mounts, new seat mounts, both longitudinals new and new jack spurs. The body is quite straight and solid and a correct style power sunroof has been added by a previous owner. The 6V electric sunroof motor is MIA,an original 12V motor will be supplied with the car. The complete seat assemblies in the original color grey leatherette are present as are the instruments, original Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio and other original interior appointments.
This car comes with a completely rebuilt 1600S 616/2 engine,#89912,done by a well known engine builder in Phoenix and not run since. This 1600S engine is dated just a bit earlier than the original 616/12 that this car was born with and is cosmetically quite nice and well detailed. Engine has been installed in the car for this sale and has not been hooked up.
This 356 is available for viewing by appointment in TX, please contact me with any questions you may have and thanks for looking.
    Priced at $45,000

    Nice car.
    Who rebuilt the engine?

I could stare at that postcard all day long; thanks for posting Eric.

With the handler being WV I would suspect that this was a personal vehicle. WV means to me that it was a direct factory sale to a favoured client.

Thank you Eric and Dave, very interesting details....
I've been trying to buy an Aetna Blue S90 Roadster for the last 30 years, maybe the one pictured in the postcard? what are the odds it's the same car? probably not so bad...

The '62 356B coupe will now sell at $39,500, a pretty good deal when you figure in the new correct floor, sunroof clip and the rebuilt engine.
