Marchal Amplilux headlights (dual lamps similiar to Cibie Biodes)

    Hi guys,

For sale is a set of Marchal Amplilux headlights. These are dual bulb headlights, similar to Cibie Biodes and frequently used on sports purpose cars back in the day.

I have two lights (1 pair) for sale, plus a third reflector/backing with out glass. This could be replayed and used in a restoration.

One of the units has a dent in the back, but it is barely noticable and does not impact performance of the lights.

For sale $500 plus shipping in the US, obo. Email me if interested hoffman912@gmail.com

Wonderful lamps. Probably one of the best safety modifications one can install on a night-driven vintage car... good luck with the sale.

Of all these, the Ampliluxes are probably the most famous -- very good low beam, high beam weak and narrow. Cat's-head logo and fancy cursive "Amplilux" moulded into lens. H1 low/H3 high.

The Biodes are quite beautiful with highly-convex lenses and a prominent round high beam reflector -- long high beam distance, low beams are a disaster if you actually want to drive at night; they don't meet even (very lax) minimum seeing distance spec for European low beam, so you'll note by the approval marks on the lens that they bear approval for the high beam only -- not for the low beam. European regs and laws don't apply in the USA, but still. H1 low/H1 high.

The Carellos are quite good on low and high beam; they've got the low beam focus and width of the Marchal, with the high beam punch of the Cibie. H1 low/H1 high. "CARELLO" script and anchor logo moulded into glass.

The Hella and Bosch (nearly identical to each other, H1 low/H1 high) are OK. Low beam better than the Biode, high beam better than the Amplilux, but neither is "Oh, wow!", and the lenses are flat and boring.

I have a set of Ampliluxes & a set of Carellos- bought from the author above. Still chasing the Cibie Biodes. Someone needs these......all of them are a nice touch & improvement to an early Porsche......cliff
