    Hood badge question

    hello folks

    first time poster here

    i have a 71 Targa S

    and I wanted to replace the hood emblem

    i have read a lot of debate

    but wanted to ask

    what's the best one to get

    i am assuming i should go porsche official part

    pelican seems to have them for like 180?

    but do i want red or orange ?

    help

    < MY 72 to 74 = Orange Bar stipple back
    < MY 75 on = Red Bar stipple back ( who cares )

    A 71S targa deserves a correct badge an as far as I’m concerned a repro badge won’t cut it but that’s just me.


    Im beginning to gather enough evidence that suggests a mid range original badge (69-71) is one of the best quality and looks like this.





    It’s got a number of differences to the earlier and later longhood badges.


    The one on the left here is a later badge, maybe 72-73, and the one on the right is 69-71
    ish.

    The one I posted would work, unless you plan on taking it off to show each Concours judge...
