    Okay, here we go.

I am trying to track down the history around this Porsche 911 - 1970 - Tour de France - Gérard Larrousse car - Vin: 911 030 0949.

In an effort to document the history of this car, I have found images - pictures that maybe can prove or disprove this history.

It quickly becomes very confusing but I hope you will help with fill out the blanks.

Timeline for what i think is correct:

A factory - Works Porsche 911ST, - Only a few were built - This 911 030 0949 Works racing car, and a factory support car. It was originally powered by engine number 6301294, and was completed on February 3rd of 1970, and retained by the Porsche Sport/Presse department. It was given special gear ratios, a rally exhaust, 40% limited slip differential, and 100-liter fuel tank. It was prepared for 1970 Austrian Alps Rally.

    Then:

With some Matra prototypes on the Tour de France entry list in 1970, Gérard Larrousse encouraged Porsche to produce an even lighter car.
And by offering a bottle of champagne for each kg. removed from the 800 kg car. This ended up costing him eleven bottles (789 kg) of the best French champagne, but it still proved insufficient to fight against 3-liter, V12-powered Matraer. Gérard Larousse ended as number 3 behind the French prototypes.

I have an original B&W photo from this race. It was acquired via auction from a photographer based in Paris. I cannot seem to upload a photo of this photo. Nonetheless, message me with an email if you would like to see it.
