Thread: We lost yet another good one....

This is sad news to hear.
I always enjoyed stopping by his place in the Gorge and chatting with him at the track in Portland.
Stephen always had some interesting cars and stuff at his Route 30 shop. He truly loved his Porsches.
In 1996 I responded to his ad for some factory posters, drove down to the Gorge to check'm out and ended up buying some posters and a car
Over the years I bought parts and stuff from Stephen, it was always a pleasure.
    RIP ................

Really sad to hear. I knew Stephen for almost 30 yrs, when he used to make trips from Key West to Hood River and stayed with me in Dallas several times on his way. One of the good guys who was truly passionate about the Porsche world. I bought my '55 Continental from Stephen in 1994 and Roy Smalley restored it. I still have it, and am reminded of some of the many conversations Stephen and I used to have when he would give me a bad time about hanging on to cars for so long....his thing was to snag em and pass them on. He loved the hunt. I remember Autoweek once wrote an article about him but never mentioned him by name....ha!

How very sad. I never met Stephen but bought several 911s from him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

    Steve. Godspeed.

I just saw this. I mourn the loss of one of the good guys.

This Spring, my wife and I went to Mosier to get ice cream. Pulled into his shop and saw it was closed. There was a 911 following us and it was Steve. He opened up his shop for us, gave us a tour and told me that he was closing the shop due to his illness. I did not realize how quickly he was taken after I saw him.
