Carrera 2.7 RS Light : seats

I purchased two carrera RS 2.7 some years ago, assuming that they were original seats : not not sure though.

Before installing them in my car, could any body on this forum tell me if they are original seats.

    Here are some photos:

I'd say yours are the real deal due to the presence of the turn buckle back adjustment and the foam profile + Perlon fabric.
These were similar to the Recaro Rally seat.

    Patrick -

Your seats are correct for the Lightweight. Get them re-upholstered and re-post some pics!

Remove the slider and see how many screw holes you have on both sides and report back please. Thickness of the GFK is a tell tale as well.

Here is an original. Note the style of the turnbuckle ends in the thumbscrew as they attach to the seat. Also the raw edges of the fiberglass where it was cut to make it adjustable. Compare this to the more finished edges on yours. The fabric on your seat is also different from the original Perlon. It is hard to make a case for the originality of your seat, sorry.

Original seats do have a sort of hump on both left and right top sides. I agree with Mark..sorry

The photos (#1 post) are a reproduction seat sold by a shop in Chicago, (location?) a small paid advertisement used to run in the back of Pano for a short time selling them, (late 80's?). The giveaway was the turnbuckle ends, the fabric, and the head rest was just a bit smaller that a standard, also the seat tracks in the photo are the later double locking type with a release lever across the front. Original tracks only lock on one side.... Mark's photo is the real one...hope this helps

yes, these seats are repros. You can see it at several places. Take a look at the distance between the bars at the headrests, for example ;-)
