    More Type II Show . . .

    . . . Type II 'cabs' --- single + double . . . with an extra-nasty 13-window thrown-in . . .

    . . . jus' 'cause

    Yeah-yeah --- a little sketchy, sure-sure . . . but they're only metal. And sooooooo simple --- and all restorable . . .

    . . . and prolly out-live us all

    More Type II Show . . .

    . . . pop-outs, pop-ups, pop-tops, a nifty little trailer for the kids to ride in (uuuuuhhh --- yours, first? . . . gulp!) . . .

    . . . even a done-up single-cab with a Hurst-designed (yeah --- THAT 'Hurst') bumper-guard/cow-catcher whatchamacallit . . .

    Love all the light-weight paint --- let's hear-it for good ol' single-stage

    More Type II Show . . .

    . . . amazing to me

Whatever accidents and safety regs didn't chase off the highway, then economics, indiscriminate ownership --- and the good ol' the tin-worm . . . would've vaporized decades ago

    And/yet --- here they are . . . out/about

    Some obvious needs, and all kinds o' touch-ups + personalization, w/Brazilian + Chinese bits, sure --- but/still . . . some of these? . . .

    . . . just amazing

Will any motorized contrivance ever be so charming?

    I don't think so..
Had a 63 for 4 years when I lived in England / Europe. Was a pop top, canary yellow with white and a total heap of shxt.
Engine went "bang" in the middle of Spain and was back on the road later the same day,,
She was my home, my security and my freedom for over 30,000 miles.
I lost all the photos of that period of my life in a house fire but the memories remain and are always triggered when ever I see a Kombi.

    More Type II Show . . .

    . . . colors, textures, characters --- + a 13-window to die for

Reminds me about why I came to German cars, in the first place

Bug Guys all kinda morphed . . . Cal Looks, Bajas --- even buggies . . . I remember people taking Mag cases to the beach, then burning 'em in bonfires. Type Is were like Passenger pigeons . . . and parking lots were filled with 'em. They were everywhere . . . cheap, accessible . . . transfomable

    But buses?

Whole different vibe, here --- purpose, history . . . presence

    I miss this

And man --- am I Jonesin' for a Volkswagen, again

What I've left of the busses I had is basically a pile of toys. If someone would like to start collecting busses feel free to contact me... (buy Märklin Tippco Schuco unplayed MOY and get the rest free on top)
