Jim, the thoughts and information that you offer are always welcome, as are Gordon's too.

1969MY CV Joints are 108mm diameter have 4 x M10 bolts on a PCD of 94mm and are 40mm wide.

The SWB Joints are 98mm diameter have 6 x M8 bolts on a PCD of 78mm and are 32 mm wide.

Drive shafts are also a different length

    Many thanks for tot help.
The interior of the flanges on this particular car don’t look like the one on the picture you posted.
I will assume I won’t have to worry about them.

    That is, of course, true.

My point was that 68 and 69 (aluminum case trans) drive flanges will interchange. They are the only ones that will interchange between 68 and any other "LWB" transmission.

Jimmy, that looks like a great product.
Just to be clear on the application years, those caps were first used on 912s in 65, and first used on 911s in early 66. They were phased out in early 68 when the simplified differential was introduced.

Is the cap and O ring jimmy t is selling the same as the one listed in jon's parts list: 901 332 239 10. Very familiar with this open diff application, retained with large wire snap ring. I've also done lots of 904 LSD's in 901 boxes with Nadella drive flanges and the same with Lobro conversion drive flanges, all of those took a hammer in cap with no O ring. Clarification please on jimmy t parts. Gordon

The 2 long stub axles on the left and the 2 wheel flanges are SWB with CV's. The short stub axles are LWB. Can't speak for backing plates.
