    Lime Rock Labor Day Historics

Hello east coast race fans. I will be in New England for three months Aug. through Oct. I am planning to go to Lime Rock over Labor Day. Can anyone offer suggestions on where to stay? Not necessarily near the track. Planning on Thurs. Fri. Sat. and Sun. Also sights to see and things to do. I haven't been in a long time and really looking forward to it. I got the Porsche bug there as a kid. Also any if there are other sports car events during that time chime in. I'll be in Franconia, NH for the duration and traveling from base camp there. Thanks, SS

I'll be there racing a 914-6 or a 911S not sure yet but in regards to places to stay I recommend VRBO or Airbnb. The place is very sleepy and old school.
In regards to things to do, I'm not sure as I spend each day at the track

If things are still the same you want to go thru Monday. Racing prohibited by the town on Sunday. Great car show instead. Racing resumes on Monday. If you got the bucks stay at the Red Lion Inn. Great Barrington used to have good motels but may be all booked up by now. Jazz festival at Tanglewood and usually a good play at the Berkshire Playhouse.

Enjoy!!!. Just watch out for the assorted Gen X and millennials who know nothing about cars. You will get frustrated with them if you talk to them even if the arrived in a Ferrari. You will get more sensible conversation if you talk to their two year olds.

As a side note, there are usually several caravans of people who come to our open house the same weekend from the Historics. In fact some stay Friday night near our shop in Ravena, NY, there is a nice Holiday Inn Express nearby, come to the open house, and then head over to the Historics.
    Hope to see everyone there.
