Posting a car for sale with no price and an inquire is awful, I have never done that and never would. I dislike seeing a car waved in front of everyone where we don’t know what the number is. Big dealers do this and I have worked for some of them. Often it is a way to jack up the price on a consignment without the owner knowing so the dealer can get more than the owner thinks they are getting.

For me it is about active sales pricing, if the car is on the market then it requires a price. If off the market then the price is not relevant to some parties. It is my point of view of course and everyone has different motivations.

Love this forum and appreciate the work those that moderators do. They have final say and do a good job of a middle ground.

I can understand this on a 2 million 904, but you will see guy's do it for a 71T. I've never understood the coyness of "Price on Request"

I'm with you 100% POR drives me crazy - either price the car for sale or put it up for auction. I don't want to go through a pre-qual interview that would make a time share salesman blush to get the price.

This is so important. I've found so many cars on other sites, plugged in VIN here and added the new sales into registry, easily. All info on these cars is helpful in so many ways.

I still have a thread here from when my current car was listed. Yes, some knuckleheads may try to beat me up on the price of I were to sell it, but that's easy to deal with imho. On the other hand, I look at the thread as further documentation of my car.

If we want to preserve info, copy the advert into the appropriate "master" sales thread to ensure it stays. If a seller doesn't like that, he/she should probably stick to the Sunday classifieds.😁

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

I actually prefer those as they can provide insight as to a sellers history with his/her buyers.

At least that is up front, you put on ebay in the title and then post a link, there is no bait and switch or coyness.

For me, it is essential that price info stays to allow tracking of trends, etc. In the case of cars, not parts, the sale
Price becomes part of the car’s history and my vote is for no delete of either price or advert. To use the forum for gain should allow it to be used by others for information...

The right move. The internet now serves as a public archive since we have so little in the way of paper records any more.
