    Spark plug wires question

In the process of installing new Beru shielded wires on my 73.5, I accidentally pulled one of the wires out of its plug while trying to remove the plug from the distributor cap. I can push it back into the plug, but does the wire need to be replaced? Just thought I would ask before dropping $200 to replace a brand new set.

Also, were the CIS cars originally delivered with shielded wires? The pictures in the factory manuals look like the normal black ones. Is there any real advantage to them if they aren't factory?

    Thanks!

Pull the remainder of the insert from the distributor cap, if it's the resistor type you'll see a wood screw down inside, look at the end of the wire, if you have the proper wire it will be copper stranded, the resistor end just screws into the copper core of the wire. As you can see, never pull on the wire, pull the entire boot next time. Those originally came without shielded grounded wires, that was a later update that they thought would be the fix to prevent blown air boxes,,,,it wasn't.
