914 steering wheel to 911 application?

I purchased a 914 wheel that had been 'fattened' and like its 380mm diameter, but wondering now (when comparing the original wheel from my 72 911 and the 914 wheel in the attached photo) if it will even work. I anticipated some re-work, but in looking at the two not sure where to start if it can indeed be used. Thank you all.

Have likely answered my own question...removed the plastic hub from the 914 wheel and see that I will need to drill, tap and countersink the 914 wheel hub to accept the turn signal cancel ring. Happy to hear additional thoughts if I've missed something. Thank you

Another option to install the wheel is to take an early 911 hub from a donor wheel, drill out the rivets of both wheel hubs, remove both hubs and install the early 911 hub to the later leather wrapped 914 wheel [using rivets (recommended) or screws] . I used an extended hub kit (made by Cornpanzer) to faciliate attaching the early hub to a later wheel since the hub kit installation required drilling / removing the hub anyway and it included the needed screws to make it all work. I like this method and it's easy to do if you have a drill press to drill out the rivets.

Thank you for the detailed response...certainly will consider this as the way to go.
