Along with its questionable utility, doesn't do much for the car's appearance. Probably explains why you don't see many around. One person's opinion.

Fac option or not, it’s certainly an atrocity.

Perhaps used for drying chamois after wiping car down?

Agree, could be a 356 item.

The factory offered their own nudge bar by 1969.
(I currently cannot find a front nudge bar one)

For 1970, now both a front and rear nudge bars were offered, rear design differs compared to 1969.

Amco offered their own aftermarket items and those differed to the factory items with their visible mounting points/screw.
Its also possible Aamco offered their items long before the factory offered their own nudge bar of 1969.
Here amco aftermarket infos of 1972:

I have an NOS Porsche rear nudge bar 9306 (or nude bar as Paul calls it) as it shows in your propaganda Karim.

Find all of them JC Whitneyish. Just my opinion.
