Unhappy cannot open my hood anymore

Dear 911 friends, I am quite desperate.

this we I watched how to solve the issue with my hood opening when drivning. I found the link here and I did the ed mayo process .

I was so confident that the alignement of the pin of the upper latch and the lower one was ok and aslo the correct strenght in the cable that I think I have been too optimistic and when reducing the lenght of the pin of the upper latch maybe I shorten it too much and ... I can not open the hood anymore.

i tried by pulling the opening knob at left of steering as much as possible but nothing happens

i tride by pulling the knob and also push the hood or even shake a little... unsuccessfull.

This thing is making me crazy as it makes something close to 2 years that we are working on the car and it is close to be done ...

And for sure I can not drive as the batteries are disconnected ...

I thank you for your input

    Have a great day

    D.

Not the same latch, but pin portion is similar

Pull the release cable and clamp it in position, then go to the hood and mostly push down, if the alignment is okay but the pin is just too short should be a matter of pushing down. Sorry if you got over confident, you have to start long and sneak up on it.

agree with all the above, but while pushing down, try pushing towards the right side of the car, in the US...passenger's side....it'll be your left when you are doing this.....the tab comes in from the other side....

JOB DONE ... Thank you all

The solution ( for my problem) was to pull the cable as much as possible then to play with the hood, and by trying to move it a little to the left side ( as described by sonett 43) we've been capable to open it.

    What a delivery ...

then we started the process to fit the latch again and today it looks that the hood stays even in strong driving conditions.

We had to play a little with the upper latch position to have the pin centered in the 2 directions ( longitudinal and lateral orientation) with the hole in the lower match. We had initialy a mismatch with pin not too aligned.

    Thanks to the team ..

    Hope to
